we're just a few weeks away from the OSU Turfgrass Research Field Day on Tuesday, August 4th!

if you’ve never been to Field Day (wait you haven’t been?!), this isn't your standard sit-and-listen conference. we are getting out on the grass. you'll walk the actual test plots at the OSU Turfgrass Research Facility, see the visible differences of new treatments firsthand, and get to ask the researchers your toughest questions. don’t hold back!

our 9:30 AM morning turf research tours are split into customized tracks, so whether you manage a golf course or high-cut turf (lawns, sports fields, landscapes), you'll see exactly what matters to your daily operation.

here’s a sneaky peeky at a few things you’ll see on the morning tours:

the autonomous mower effect: can switching to autonomous mowers actually limit crabgrass in the rough or reduce dollar spot on fairways? Brian Miller and Diana Jepkogei will show you the plots and the data.
surviving the drought: do wetting agents really provide relief when the rain stops? Jonathan Moore and Tyler Carr will break down the latest trials on both golf courses and high-cut turf.
next-gen organic fertilizers: Ed Nangle is showcasing brand new trials using biopolymer-coated soy flour.
cultivar selection & low-input turf: see the visual differences in fine fescue, tall fescue, and the latest creeping bentgrass cultivars.
pest & disease control: Todd Hicks and Shaohui Wu will cover how to control problematic diseases and perfectly time your insecticide applications for multiple lawn pests.

mini trade show, large equipment demos & afternoon weed walk: after a catered lunch from the Extreme Tailgating Vehicle (courtesy of Heritage Landscape Supply), spend some time at our trade show & equipment expo, featuring live large equipment demos so you can see the latest industry machinery in action (and try it yourself! - with a waiver of course)! then, don't miss the weed ID and control walk with Dave Gardner at 1:00 PM to tackle your most stubborn grassy and broadleaf weeds. it’s almost as nice as a long walk on the beach…we swear.
